In regards to Christianity, the majority are hardly ever right! When Jesus was crucified, how many were right? When God flooded this Earth how many were right? When God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah how many were right? The numbers are constantly small.
How many people today have taken Jesus as their Lord and Saviour? Sadly that number is also an extremely small percentage. The Bible says the second coming is going to be like the days of Noah where only eight were saved!
Since the majority grow up with Sunday worship as their "tradition", it becomes very much a mindset and people are very reluctant to accept change, or alter their lifestyle. Saturday is also a day that is not convenient for most Christians and so sadly, most would rather not know the Biblical truth and go into denial. Because of these factors, even when pastors are presented with the Sabbath truth, they still choose not to accept it! Even when they themselves 'say' that 'it is part' of the Ten Commandments!
Many say the Sabbath was changed to Sunday "in honour of the resurrection" and others say it was "nailed to the cross!" Others will tell you "any day can be kept as the Sabbath day as long as you keep one!" And still others say "as long as you do everything to the glory of God the Sabbath is as good as kept!" And yet still others will say it is "legalism!" Worst of all, and this is becoming even more popular by the decade, some say "the Ten Commandments are not even relevant anymore!".
To these people Jesus would have said, "Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?" Matthew 15:3
To these people Jesus would have said, "This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips: but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matthew 15:8-9
To these people Jesus would have said, "...if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments." Matthew 19:17
To these people Jesus would have said, "Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 7:21.
To these people Jesus would have said, "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:18-20
Lastly, to these people Jesus would have said, "If ye love me keep my commandments." John 14:15. Exactly the same words as he has said from the beginning, in Exodus 20:6.
The fact of the matter is, that what is popular is not always truth! and what is truth is not always popular!
2 Timothy 4:3-4 says, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."
Peter summed it up beautifully in how we should act in today's confused religious world in the book of Acts. He said "We ought to obey God rather than men." Acts 5:29
